Winnipeg-born linebacker Thomas Miles has signed on with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

The former Manitoba Bison spent the past three seasons with Toronto after being taken by the Argos 33rd overall in the 2014 CFL Draft.

WINNIPEG — Cole Adamson visited four universities before deciding to stay in Winnipeg and call the University of Manitoba home.

The newly-recruited student-athlete is the Manitoba Bisons latest defensive tackle to suit up in the brown and gold.

Adamson, 17, played for the Oak Park Raiders (2013-2016) and was the defensive player of the year in 2016 in Manitoba.

Bisons Begin Best-of-Three Playoff Series at Home

University of Manitoba BisonsWINNIPEG — The Manitoba Bison women’s hockey team begins their post-season tonight, hosting a Canada West Quarter Final best-of-three playoff series.

The third place University of Manitoba squad (16-7-3-2) welcomes the Mount Royal Cougars. It’s the first time the two teams will have a playoff meeting since the sixth-place Mount Royal started conference play in the 2012-13 season.

WINNIPEG — The Manitoba Bison men’s volleyball team has only a single loss under their belt this season, making for an impressive 17-1 record and a first-place position in Canada West conference standings.

The visiting Thompson Rivers WolfPack (2-14) hopes to disrupt Manitoba from their comfortable seat leading the conference during a two-game set tonight and Saturday.

WINNIPEG — Five recruits have committed to the Manitoba Bison women’s volleyball team for 2017-18.

The Herd introduced the group on Monday, comprised of outside/middle hitter Laura Hill (St. Mary’s Academy), setter Kelsey Jordan (Vincent Massey), left side hitter Sydney Kurth (Glenlawn Collegiate), libero Sydney Michalyshen (Oak Park High School) and outside hitter Ayiya Ottogo.

WINNIPEG — Manitoba Bison men’s volleyball coach Garth Pischke reached another career milestone Saturday when he hit his 1,300th overall match win.

Pischke’s squad defeated the UBC Thunderbirds 3-1 in the second game of a two-day series at the University of Manitoba (25-23, 27-29, 25-16, 25-23).

University of Manitoba BisonsThe University of Manitoba Bisons have recruited five players for the 2017-18 season.

Joining the Herd next season will be Lauren Taraschuk, Madison Cole, Émilie Massé, Brielle Dacquay-Neveux and Lauren Warkentin.

Taraschuk is a goalie from Winnipeg, Cole is a forward from Alberta, while Masse is a forward from Winnipeg, Dacquay-Neveux plays on defence from Winnipeg and Warkentin is a defenceman from Steinbach.

University of Manitoba BisonsThe Manitoba Bisons won the 26th annual Duckworth Challenge against the University of Winnipeg Wesmen by a 3-1-1 margin after a sweep of volleyball matches on Thursday night at the University of Manitoba. The Bison men’s volleyball team won 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-21) over Winnipeg while the Bison women’s volleyball won 3-1 (15-25, 26-24, 25-20, 26-24) against Winnipeg to clinch this season’s Duckworth Challenge title for Manitoba.
