This weekend’s Morden Corn and Apple Festival is being honoured with a Celebrate Manitoba designation.

The Morden Corn and Apple Festival has received $22,200 in funding for the federal government to put on its 49th annual festival this summer.
The funding, announced over the weekend, will support a variety of activities, including musical performances, traditional dancing, an art walk, local heritage tours, theatrical performances and an artists’ alley featuring local artists and artisans.
Prepare for a dose of salty, buttery goodness this weekend as the Morden Corn and Apple Festival is here for another year.
The three-day festival begins day and runs through Sunday about 130 kilometres southwest of Winnipeg.
While the main attraction is the thousands of free cobs of corn being dealt out, the event also includes the famous midway, artisan displays and plenty of entertainment. This year’s headliner is Little River Band.
Festivities begin bright and early this morning with the Girl Guides/ Boy Scout pancake breakfast at Confederation Park, followed by the farmers’ market.
Admission is free. For a list of scheduled events, visit CornAndApple.com.
The 42nd annual Morden Corn and Apple Festival is over for another year and thankfully the weather cooperated for the most part. The lineups for free corn on the cob were long, but if you managed to hang in there, it was definitely worth it.
The car show and shine was also a huge hit, bringing out participants from across Manitoba and the U.S.

This weekend is the 42nd Morden Corn and Apple Festival in … Morden of all places.
The annual event features three days packed with events for the entire family, including the two most popular items that most people come out for. Hot buttered corn on the cob and cold apple cider will be served to attendees free of charge, as always.
There’s also a complete midway and on-stage entertainment, not to mention a pancake breakfast each morning.
The festival begins today and runs until Sunday.
