The third phase of an important public awareness campaign to protect children was launched in Winnipeg on Wednesday.

“Stop Sex with Kids” is a call-to-action designed to mobilize adults to get involved and do their part to protect children. The first two phases of the campaign called Tracia’s Trust — part of the Manitoba Strategy — was aimed at raising awareness of kids who are being bought for sex in the province. Part three encourages all adults to be part of the important solution to protect young children and stop these acts from happening.

“In Manitoba we have changed our attitudes, changed our language, and now we must change our actions. No longer will these users and abusers be off the hook,” said Christy Dzikowicz, Director of Child Find Manitoba. “We will not stand by and allow our children to be harmed.”

A number of organizations are supporting the campaign, including the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs, Beyond Borders and the Province of Manitoba.

A new website was launched at StopSexWithKids.ca, where the public can go to watch PSAs and obtain further information on the campaign.
