A new morning show will launch on Winnipeg’s radio airwaves on Tuesday.
Dez Daniels and Kelly Parker will be the new morning team at 99.9 BOB FM beginning September 6 as part of “BOB’s Breakfast.”
Parker is BOB’s current afternoon drive host, while Dez will return to Bell Media, where she previously worked on the morning show with Beau and Tom before leaving for 102.3 Clear FM. In March of this year, Dez was let go from Clear
Up until now, Jay Richardson has been handling mornings solo on the “80’s, 90’s and Whatever” station since co-host Andrea Collins departed for Virgin Radio in Montreal.
Richardson now begins his new morning duties at sister station Sports Radio 1290 with co-host and former Winnipeg Blue Bomber Troy Westwood. The show will conveniently be called “Jay and Westwood” and also debuts on Tuesday — airing weekdays from 5:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Westwood previously co-hosted mornings on QX 104 before being released in March.
The fall ratings period begins September 5. In the spring book, BOB FM was down a few shares (5.2) compared to the same time last year (7.1). Sports Radio 1290 was down from a 3.0 share to a 0.7. A radio insider tells us these new additions is the plan to boost the station’s listener base.
