Firefighters’ Union Launching PR Campaign

United Fire Fighters of WinnipegThe United Fire Fighters of Winnipeg is kicking off a campaign today to promote the work they do on a daily basis.

Through a series of three different commercials, the UFFW will highlight the issue of arson and the hazards of firefighting. Ed Wiebe, a Winnipeg firefighter who suffered burns to 80 percent of his body while on the job, is featured in one of the commercials. Capt. Harold Lessard and Capt. Thomas Nichols were killed in the same St. Boniface house fire in 2007.

The ads will be shown on TV and in all local movie theatres during December and into the New Year.
