Two Winnipeg radio stations are now under the ownership of the Jim Pattison Broadcast Group.

QX 104 and FAB 94.3 were previously put up on the selling block by Astral Media and Bell Media, respectively, back in 2012. The CRTC approved the sale in December 2013, clearing the way for both FM stations to assume new ownership effective February 1.

“We’re excited to be bringing these two teams from FAB and QX together — and we’re looking forward to doing great things in the community going forward,” general manager Don Shafer said in a release.

Part of the agreement with Pattison includes the evolution of FAB 94.3, with a revamped music library, and a move to include more hits from the 80s to their playlist.

FAB 94.3 is currently located on Pembina Highway and will eventually move to Lombard Avenue to join QX 104 at their studios. 103.1 Virgin Radio (Bell Media) will move from Lombard to Pembina to join its other Bell properties, which include TSN 1290 and 99.9 BOB FM.
