Two Winnipeg restaurants are among the 75 best in Canada when it comes where to take mom for Mother’s Day brunch on Sunday, May 8.
According to table reservation app OpenTable, Prairie’s Edge and Promenade Café and Wine are the ‘best’ spots, as chosen by users of the app.
“Our research revealed nearly 50 percent of Canadians dine out on this special day, but the majority of us find at least one aspect of Mother’s Day stressful,” said Ziv Schierau, head of national accounts for OpenTable Canada.
“With this list of the 75 best restaurants in Canada for brunch, we hope to relieve some of that stress by highlighting the unforgettable spaces and exceptional dining experiences perfect for honouring mom.”
The list was narrowed down by sorting the combined opinions of more than 275,000 restaurant reviews for approximately 1,700 restaurants across Canada.
Of the list, 29 restaurants are in Ontario, 18 in Alberta, 14 in British Columbia, 10 from Quebec and four from Manitoba.
Outside of city limits, The Gates on Roblin in Headingley and Pineridge Hollow in the RM of Springfield were also chosen.
According to OpenTable, 47 percent of Canadians who celebrate Mother’s Day will dine out to celebrate this year, on the second busiest dining day of the year across the country.
Sixty-four percent of Canadians wait until the week before Mother’s Day to make their reservation. Fifteen percent of Canadians book their table on Mother’s Day.
