It’s now possible to rent a bike in downtown through a new program launched on Wednesday.
Pedal in the Peg is an active transit initiative from the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ.
The city is providing the BIZ with $1,750 annually to maintain the 22 bikes in its rental fleet.
“We were thinking of visitors staying in downtown Winnipeg, but this really is a program for everyone to enjoy,” said BIZ CEO Stefano Grande.
Bikes are available at five downtown locations, including the 311 desk at City Hall, where bikes are free to rent.
Rental rates vary at the other four locations:
- Alt Hotel, 310 Donald Street
- Delta Hotels by Marriott Winnipeg, 250 St. Mary Avenue
- Holiday Inn & Suites Winnipeg Downtown, 360 Colony Street
- Downtown Winnipeg BIZ Offices, 426 Portage Avenue
