Winnipeg Santa Claus Parade Taking Over Downtown

He’s made his list and checked it twice, Santa Claus is coming to town!

The annual Winnipeg Santa Claus Parade is Saturday evening, and for many, marks the start of the holiday season.

The parade begins at 5 p.m. is expected to run between 50 and 60 minutes as floats make their way through downtown streets. The big man in red is expected to reach the end of the parade route at around 6:50 p.m.

The Winnipeg Santa Claus Parade begins at Portage Avenue and Young Street, and heads east down Portage Avenue to the intersection of Portage and Main. It turns south on Main Street and continues until William Stephenson Way. The parade ends at Westbrook Street.

This year’s parade grand marshal is Gloria Cardwell-Hoeppner, the former executive director of West End BIZ.
