One person was found dead Sunday and another injured after a fire at a motel in the 1800 block of Pembina Highway.
Firefighters responded to the two-storey Capri Motel at around 8:39 a.m. They had flames under control by just before 9 a.m.
The damage was contained to a single suite, where firefighters found one person deceased. Other guests self-evacuated before crews arrived.
One firefighter was injured and was transported to hospital in stable condition. No other injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation and no damage estimates are available.
