Winnipeg Public Library branches will extend their operating hours beginning September 3, providing residents with increased access to library services.

The updated schedule includes year-round Wednesday openings for all branches, expanded Saturday hours in the summer, and additional Sunday hours in the fall and winter, resulting in a 9.7 percent increase in annual operating hours.

Key changes include:

  • Opening all 20 libraries on Wednesdays year-round (up from nine).
  • Expanding Sunday openings in the fall and winter from six to 10 libraries.
  • Increasing summer Saturday openings from three to 10 libraries.
  • Adjusting opening times for several branches, with six libraries shifting from 10 a.m. to noon on select weekdays and other branches, including Osborne and Windsor Park, extending morning hours.
