The Winnipeg Goldeyes kept their playoff hopes alive with a thrilling 7-3 win over the Sioux Falls Canaries on Friday at Blue Cross Park, evening the best-of-three American Association West Division Series at 1-1. Trailing 3-1 in the sixth inning, Max Murphy hit a 417-foot two-run homer to tie the game, followed by Edwin Arroyo’s 386-foot three-run blast, giving the Goldeyes a 6-3 lead and igniting the home crowd.

Roby Enriquez added an insurance run in the eighth inning with a triple that drove in Rob Emery. Sioux Falls initially led 3-1, with solo home runs from Josh Rehwaldt and Jabari Henry, but Winnipeg’s bullpen, led by Nick Trogrlic-Iverson (1-0) and closer Joey Steele, shut down the Canaries in the late innings.
