WINNIPEG — A new fire-paramedic station in Windsor Park is now responding to emergency calls.

The City of Winnipeg says the Station 9 facility was built on the same site as the old Windsor Park station, but now includes more bay space to accommodate additional crews.

With its increased capacity at 1083 Autumnwood Drive, Station 9 will take over operations from the station at 864 Marion Street, allowing for the reassignment of crews. The new station houses an engine and crew, the hazardous materials response team, a fire investigator, and a paramedic crew with an ambulance.

Officials say the upgraded station will enhance emergency response capabilities and better serve the Windsor Park community.

A commissioning ceremony and public open house is planned for later this spring.
