The Winnipeg Jets have signed defenceman Neal Pionk to a six-year contract extension worth an average annual value of $7 million USD.
The deal, set to begin in the 2025–26 NHL season, solidifies Pionk’s future with the team through the 2030–31 campaign.
Pionk, 29, tallied 39 points (10 goals, 29 assists) and recorded 44 penalty minutes in 69 games during the 2024–25 season. He ranked second on the Jets in average ice time (22:04) and tied for third in plus/minus (+21). His 10 goals matched a career high, making him one of 12 Jets skaters to hit double digits in goals.
Originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the New York Rangers in 2017, Pionk joined the Jets via trade in June 2019. Over his NHL career, he has notched 256 points in 536 games split between Winnipeg and New York.
