The Assiniboine Park Conservancy is planning a public viewing party at the Lyric Theatre for Game 5 of the Winnipeg Jets’ second-round Stanley Cup Playoff series — if the game is necessary.
Fans will be able to watch a live Sportsnet feed of the game on the outdoor big screen, similar to the popular Movies in the Park events. The viewing party is scheduled for Thursday, May 15, with gates opening one hour before puck drop. Tickets will be available for a $10 donation per person aged three and up and will go on sale the morning after Game 5 is confirmed.
Proceeds from the event will support the conservancy’s education, conservation, and recreation programs.
If the series goes to seven games, a second viewing party may be held on Monday, May 19. Event updates will be posted on the Assiniboine Park website.
The Jets fell 3-2 in Game 1 against the Dallas Stars on Wednesday. Game 2 of the second round is scheduled for Friday night at Canada Life Centre.
