The Canadian Museum for Human Rights is offering free admission to people displaced by wildfires as evacuees continue to arrive in Winnipeg.
“As folks come to Winnipeg, and are staying in temporary shelters or with family or friends, we hope this can provide a good way to take their mind off things as they wait to hear news of their homes and communities,” said Isha Khan, CMHR CEO, on Friday.
The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evacuees are asked to show proof of address at the box office.
Admission is also free for all Indigenous visitors and for the general public on the first Sunday of each month — including this Sunday, June 1.
