The Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival wrapped up its 38th edition on July 27, drawing 84,936 attendees to indoor shows and hosting more than 30,000 visitors at outdoor events in Old Market Square.
Over 12 days, 148 companies staged 1,149 performances across downtown Winnipeg, with 157 shows selling out. Box office revenue reached $842,435, a four percent increase from last year — all returned to the performers.
The Manitoba Association of Playwrights awarded “The Goose” by Ellen Peterson the 2025 Harry S. Rintoul Award for Best New Manitoba Play. The honourable mention went to “Third Party” by Thomas McLeod.
Next year’s Fringe runs July 15–26, 2026.
