Folklorama is set to kick off its 54th annual celebration of culture, food, and entertainment on Sunday, August 3, with 43 ethno-cultural pavilions across Winnipeg.

This year introduces two new pavilions — Modern Chinese and Mabuhay Philippine — while others mark milestones, including the Pavilion of Scotland (50 years), Tamil Pavilion (25), and Celtic Ireland (20).

“Winnipeg’s story is one of many cultures, traditions, and communities coming together to create a truly diverse city,” said Folklorama executive director Teresa Cotroneo.

“The languages, arts, and customs that have been nurtured here over generations are woven into the heart of our city. When you visit a Pavilion, you feel the love and pride these communities pour into sharing their heritage and it’s a beautiful reflection of who we are, collectively.”

Admission is $7.50 for adults, with free entry for kids under 12. VIP and multipack ticket options are also available, including themed and accessible tours.

The festival runs through August 16. Full details are at Folklorama.ca/festival.
