A residential parking ban is now in effect across Winnipeg as city crews begin plowing neighbourhood streets following recent winter storms.

The ban started at 7 a.m. Sunday, and will remain in place until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23. During this period, parking is prohibited on residential streets to allow crews to clear snow efficiently.

To accommodate residents, the City of Winnipeg has temporarily suspended the winter route parking ban for the duration of the residential ban. Drivers are allowed to park overnight on designated winter routes between 7 a.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Motorists are reminded to check posted signage, as other parking restrictions such as rush-hour bans or loading zones remain in effect. Vehicles left in restricted areas during the residential ban may be ticketed or towed.
