The City of Winnipeg has awarded $2,516,456 in funding to 60 non-profit organizations through its new 2025 Community and Neighbourhood Grant Program.

The city received more than $15 million in funding requests, with grants distributed to organizations working in areas such as community well-being, recreation, arts and culture, and environmental initiatives.

Thirteen organizations supporting people at risk of or experiencing homelessness will receive a combined $725,000, representing a 117 percent increase compared to similar funding last year.

This marks the first funding distribution under the new Community and Neighbourhood Grant Program, which provides operating grants through a single, streamlined intake system.

Funding was awarded across four streams: environmental and green city initiatives, recreation, community well-being, and arts and culture.

The grant program is expected to reopen for applications in summer 2026.

A full list of recipients is available on the city’s website.
