Students and staff at Bernie Wolfe School were evacuated and relocated on Wednesday following a reported early-morning threat.

The River East Transcona School Division says Winnipeg police were immediately notified and the school’s emergency plan was activated to ensure safety.

Students already inside the building were evacuated to a designated off-site location, while those who had not yet entered were gathered in the schoolyard for attendance before being escorted to the evacuation site.

Parents and guardians have been informed that they can pick up their children from the evacuation location. School division officials say they are working closely with police and will continue to provide updates to families as more information becomes available.

No injuries have been reported.
