The Manitoba government is providing $359,000 to winter festivals in the province as part of $1.2 million in greater festival funding.

Sport, Culture, Heritage and Tourism Minister Nellie Kennedy announced the investments on Friday.

“Festivals connect people, celebrate community spirit and support local businesses,” Kennedy said.

Among the grant recipients is Festival du Voyageur, which is currently running until Sunday. Organizers are receiving nearly $325,000 in previously announced funds.
