The Manitoba government is rolling out a new mobile app designed to keep residents informed during emergencies.
The launch of MB Ready coincides with Emergency Preparedness Week, running May 3 to 9.
MB Ready provides real-time, location-based notifications for emergencies and incidents, including severe weather, wildfires, floods, road closures, and power outages. Users can set alerts for specific addresses or geographic areas.
The platform also includes guidance on building emergency kits, creating household emergency plans, understanding local risks, and accessing safety information during an emergency.
“Planning ahead makes a real difference during emergencies, and this app will help keep Manitobans informed with clear, accessible and up-to-date information,” said Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Lisa Naylor, who is also responsible for the Emergency Management Organization (EMO).
The app is available in both English and French for download to both Apple and Android devices.
