The City of Winnipeg is asking residents to weigh in on a draft design for a replacement pedestrian bridge over Omand’s Creek.
The existing bridge in Omand Park is aging, floods frequently, and features steep pathways that are difficult to navigate, according to the city.
The proposed design raises the bridge to reduce flooding and rebuilds the surrounding pathways to improve safety and accessibility for people of all ages and abilities, while preserving the park’s natural character.
Winnipeggers can review the proposed design and complete an online survey at winnipeg.ca/omandscreekbridge until June 14, 2026. The city is looking for input on how well the design supports current uses of the park, how it balances accessibility with the natural environment, and what concerns still need to be addressed.
Two in-person drop-in events are also planned for those who want to speak directly with the project team:
- Omand Park pop-up — Tuesday, June 2, 3:30 to 6:30 p.m., at the corner of Wolseley Avenue and Raglan Road.
- Wolseley Farmers Market pop-up — Tuesday, June 9, 3:30 to 6:30 p.m., at 160 Ethelbert St.
