The Manitoba government is investing $3 million through a new fund to support safe, accessible playgrounds across the province.

The Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities Play Structure Fund was previously announced in the government’s 2026 budget. It aims to reduce fundraising pressures on parent councils and support school divisions as they transition to budgeting for playground construction and replacement projects. Under the program, the province covers up to 75 percent of eligible project costs, to a maximum of $100,000 per project.

Through the new fund and existing school project budgets, 43 playground projects will receive support across Manitoba, including 38 new projects.
