The Manitoba government is expanding eligibility under its one-time flood recovery program to provide additional support to residents in communities hit hard by a series of major rainfall events in June.

“Large areas experienced multiple heavy rainfall events throughout June, resulting in significant flooding, causing extensive damage to homes, farms, businesses and public buildings,” said Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Lisa Naylor.

“This expansion ensures that communities are provided with the essential support they need to recover and build mitigation strategies for the future.”

Following a review of impacts across the province, the government has expanded recovery eligibility to include: the City of Dauphin, the RM of Dauphin, Mossey River Municipality, the Municipality of Ethelbert, Grandview Municipality, the Municipality of Gilbert Plains, the RM of Lakeshore, the Municipality of Ste. Rose, Rossburn Municipality, the Municipality of Russell-Binscarth, the RM of Riding Mountain West, Prairie View Municipality, and the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton.
