Families looking for something to do on Sunday won’t find a shortage of activities at the Living Prairie Museum.
The museum at 2795 Ness Avenue is holding its 17th Annual Spirit of the Prairie Celebration with live music, square dancing demonstrations, a Red River Cart, sash weaving and prizes.

12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. — Square Dancing demonstration with Portage Youth Steppers
1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. — Storytelling with Joe McLellan
1:45 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. — “Before the Plough; Harnessing Prairie Resources” Presentation by Philippe Mailhot, Director, Le Musée de Saint-Boniface Museum
2:15 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. — Guided Prairie Hike with John Morgan of Prairie Habitats and “Sash Dance” with Carol James
2:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. — Storytelling with Joe McLellan
3 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. — Rehabilitated Bird Release with Wildlife Haven
3:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. — Guided Hike/ Square Dancing demonstration/instruction
12 p.m. to 4 p.m. — All-day activities include: sash weaving, demonstrations by the Manitoba Archaeology Society and the Manitoba Living History Society, traditional games, bannock baking, crafts and face painting.
