Replacing your old toilet with a high-efficiency model will save you $60 on your water bill, thanks to a City of Winnipeg replacement credit program continuing in 2011.

Winnipeggers that own or rent and live in a single family home within city limits are eligible for the credit.

To take advantage of the offer, residents must purchase a toilet carrying the WaterSense label on the city’s approved list, and recycle their old toilet at an approved recycling depot. Customers may apply for a credit for up to two toilets per water account per year.

The city has approved 3,500 credits so far.

More information on the program is available at Winnipeg.ca.
