Afternoon drive host Dez Daniels was let go from 102.3 Clear FM on Wednesday morning.
We’re told the termination came without warning and Dez’s show performed fairly well in the latest ratings book.
Along with Dez, two other staff members were let go from their administrative roles.
Budgetary issues are said to be the reasoning behind the cuts.
No word yet on who will take over the afternoon drive shift at Clear.
Before joining the Rogers-owned station, Dez held down the morning show with Beau and Tom on the now-defunct Q94 FM.
UPDATE: Dez tells ChrisD.ca she wishes to thank the Clear listeners who have been so incredibly supportive the last few years. “Regardless of where I’ve gone on the dial people have always turned up and it’s what makes this job the great one that it is,” she said.
