An 18-year-old Steinbach woman was killed Thursday afternoon after being struck by a semi-trailer truck.
RCMP say the woman was riding her bicycle through an intersection in Steinbach at about 2:45 p.m. when the crash happened. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The truck was hauling hogs at the time and was travelling west on Highway 52 from Highway 12 when the cyclist was hit. The driver of the truck — a man from Mitchell, Manitoba — was not injured.
Police are continuing to investigate and say alcohol is not considered a factor in the crash.
