City Hospital to Treat Enlarged Prostate with Laser

Victoria General Hospital will be able to treat patients with enlarged prostate using a new laster treatment.

GreenLight XPS Laser Therapy removes enlarged prostate issue and VGH is the first medical facility in Winnipeg to have the technology. It’s a safe alternative to medical of an invasive medical procedure.

The process opens a channel for urine to flow through, with fewer risks of sexual and other side-effects common with a traditional invasive surgical procedure. The laser therapy has treated more than 500,000 patients throughout the world.

Enlarged prostate, also known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), affects more than half of all men over the age of 50.
