Operation Red Nose Gets Funding Boost for 2011

November 8, 2011 9:47 AM | News

Funding for Operation Red Nose will increase this year after Manitoba Public Insurance committed an additional $35,000. The new funds — which total $90,000 — will be used for increased promotion and host support, with additional hosts in Arborg and Riverton.

The annual service provides safe rides home for holiday revellers, while accepting donations for local charities.

In 2010, more than $55,000 was raised in eight Manitoba communities, including Winnipeg, Brandon, Flin Flon, Gimli, Portage la Prairie, Selkirk, The Pas, and Thompson.

Safety Services Manitoba and MPI will launch the 2011 campaign on November 18. To volunteer as a driver or dispatcher, click here.
