Skiers rejoiced over the weekend as the Asessippi Ski Area & Resort opened for the season, attracting about 1,200 guests.
The hill, located just under four hours northwest of Winnipeg, partnered with CAA this year, which helped to bring out handfuls of new people to the area as part of a sleep and ski offer.
The mild temperatures were also a plus, creating the perfect environment for winter enthusiasts to enjoy some skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing and snowbiking.
This coming weekend promises just as much fun, with Santa taking to the slopes and the village for photos on Saturday, while also handing out treats to kids.
Asessippi was able to open with 14 runs, one terrain park and the downhill snow tubing park. It’s expected all 25 runs will be open by the holidays.
