After three years of having entrance fees waived, it will once again cost Manitobans to visit provincial parks in 2012.
Manitoba Conservation says a daily park permit will be $4, while a three-day permit will be $8. An annual permit will cost park-goers $30.
The province will take in a third of all revenue collected, meant to maintain campground facilities and expand park amenities as needed.
Campers will have to shell out more to pitch a tent next year as well, as reservation fees are also going up. The increase is expected to bring in between $2- to $3-million for the province. The “modest increases” will be used to sustain the province’s many parks.
The fees will come into effect May 1.
