Take Pride Winnipeg! is readying for its 15th annual Winnipeg in Bloom contest.
Any local property is eligible to enter the contest, which will be judged on curb appeal, innovative features and property cleanliness to help beautify the city.
“Gardeners in Winnipeg are passionate and determined,” said Tom Ethans, Take Pride’s executive director. “Winnipeg has a short growing season, and they make the most of it. We want to celebrate their efforts and the fabulous curb appeal they add to city streets.”
Judging categories include business and residential, community efforts, apartment blocks and condominiums. Property owners may enter themselves, or nominate a neighbour with a green thumb. The entry deadline is July 3, 2012. Judging will occur during the month of July, with the awards reception held in August at Rainbow Stage.
Entries can be made in-store at any Winnipeg Home Depot location or at TakePride.mb.ca.
This year, winning properties may be featured in the Great Winnipeg Gardens calendar for 2013.
