Two Manitoba musical acts won awards at the Indian Summer Music Awards in Milkwaukee, Wisconsin over the weekend.
Singer-songwriter Don Amero landed honours for Best Country Song for “Right Where I Wanna Be” off his release, The Long Way Home.
Two songs from Supernation, the debut album from Eagle & Hawk front man Vince Fontaine’s new project Indian City, earned honours. The album’s title track picked up Best Pop Song while its single, “Stand”, won for Best Rock Song.
The ISMAs are held annually in conjunction with the Indian Summer Festival, the largest Native American festival in North America.
