Winnipeg Jazz Festival Calls for Musician Entries

December 14, 2012 9:00 AM | Entertainment

Jazz Winnipeg has put the call out to musicians to be a part of the 2013 TD Winnipeg International Jazz Festival.

Organizers say while programming is emphasized on jazz music, pop, blues, roots, indie, R&B, soul and urban music are also important parts of the event.

“Submissions should demonstrate forethought about repertoire and personnel. Please tell us what you plan to do, how it is different from your local performances throughout the year, and why it should be a part of this exciting event,” said Jazz Winnipeg executive director Paul Nolin.

A call for entries was also put out for Jazz Winnipeg’s 8th annual 2013-2014 Nu Sounds Series, running from December 2013 to May 2014 at The Park Theatre.

Any artist interested in submitting a proposal can do so via e-mail to paul@jazzwinnipeg.com by Friday, February 22, 2013 at 5 p.m. CT. Proposals can be fairly informal and should consist mainly of two to three paragraphs outlining a concept and a short bio for each of the musicians involved. If appropriate, music selections can also be sent.
