The first liquor store in Winkler opened on Wednesday.
The community has been dry for decades, but now has access to a new Liquor Mart on Cargill Road.
“Over the years, we have had tremendous interest from Winkler residents wanting expanded liquor service in the city,” said Robert Holmberg, vice-president of liquor operations with Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries.
“Winkler is a vibrant community and we are excited to finally be able to open our doors and provide area residents with the convenience of a full service Liquor Mart within the city.”
The store will carry approximately 1,800 listings of wine, spirits and beer.
