A hockey game in Stonewall was halted on Sunday after a reference was allegedly assaulted.
RCMP were called to the Stonewall Arena just before 4:30 p.m., where they say a referee may have been struck by a 14-year-old player, as well as by parents who were fighting in the stands. The incident happened during the last period of a minor hockey league championship game between Stonewall and Dog Creek First Nation.
There were no reported injuries and police defused the situation.
About 100 people were cleared from the arena after the game was stopped.
Police are continuing to investigate.
