A semi-truck allegedly carrying 137 lbs. of marijuana was pulled over by Manitoba RCMP near Portage la Prairie on Monday.
Shortly after 2 a.m., RCMP stopped the big rig on the Trans-Canada Highway. The Maritimes man driving the truck was arrested and charges are pending.
The vehicle was taken to Winnipeg to be searched further.
UPDATE: Wednesday, May 14 — Lawrence Edward Millen, 55, of Nova Scotia has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking. Millen’s charges come after an almost two-month investigation dubbed Project Durable. He will appear in court May 29.
