Manitoba School Boards AssociationThose thinking about running as a candidate for school trustee this fall should mark down some dates on their calendar.

The Manitoba School Boards Association is holding three candidate information sessions ahead of this fall’s municipal election on October 22.

“People often have technical questions about running in a school board election, questions about qualifications, nomination procedures, and what they can and can’t do when it comes to campaigning,” said Carolyn Duhamel, executive director of the association.

In-person sessions will be held at Brandon’s Victoria Inn on Monday, June 9, and at the Norwood Hotel in Winnipeg on June 10. An online webinar will be held on June 17 and will be recorded for future use by anyone unable to join the live session. All sessions are free and will start at 7 p.m.

Registration for in-person sessions is not required, but those wishing to participate in the webinar need to obtain login details by calling the MSBA at (204) 233-1595 or 1-800-262-8836, or by visiting mbschoolboards.ca.
