Sport Manitoba has received accreditation by Imagine Canada under its national standards program.
The organization is an umbrella for Canada’s charities and non-profits and announced Sport Manitoba in the latest group of 16 organizations to be accredited.
The standards program is a set of shared standards for charities and non-profits designed to strengthen practices in five fundamental areas: board governance, financial accountability and transparency, fundraising, staff management, and volunteer involvement.
“To receive accreditation from Imagine Canada demonstrates that our organization is functioning at a high level of accountability and transparency,” said Jeff Hnatiuk, president and CEO of Sport Manitoba. “This is paramount for a non-profit organization reliant on public and private funding.”
