Tourism Winnipeg is banking on a slick new video to draw visitors to the city.

The video features Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra conductor Alexander Micklethwaite as the ‘tour guide,’ showing off some of Winnipeg’s hotspots.

“With Winnipeg gaining momentum and growing as a travel destination, we want to showcase all of the exciting assets the city has to offer with a hip, fun, dynamic video establishing the personality and pizzazz we are looking for that truly represents Winnipeg,” said Chantal Sturk-Nadeau, senior vice-president for Tourism Winnipeg.

The video was produced by Tripwire Media Group Inc. to attract multiple markets, including meetings and conventions delegates, targeted leisure audiences, and online viewers.

Cody Chomiak, director of marketing for Tourism Winnipeg, says video is an integral component for inspiring travel.

“In today’s digital landscape, videos are excellent vehicles to increase visitation to our city, drive in spending, and cement our standing as an extraordinary travel destination. We also want citizens to feel proud of their city and to invite family and friends to visit.”
