New Swedish candy bars are opening in IKEA stores across Canada. (CNW GROUP / IKEA CANADA)
Shoppers with a sweet tooth will soon be able to indulge their sugary cravings at IKEA.
The Swedish furniture giant is introducing Lördagsgodis, or “Saturday candy,” which is described as a storied Scandinavian tradition in which children were allowed to visit the local store every Saturday for a bag of candy.
Customers will be offered the option to purchase bags of mixed bulk candy for $1.99/100 grams.
IKEA says the naturally-coloured candy contains no trans fats, high-fructose corn syrup or GMOs.
The pick and mix sweets will roll out throughout the fall in Swedish food markets at each IKEA store across Canada. Winnipeg’s store will see the candy bar open as of this Wednesday.
