Anglers won’t need a fishing licence this weekend to keep what they catch from Manitoba’s waters.
Free family fishing weekend is June 11-12 province-wide.
“This weekend, we encourage Manitobans and visitors to our province to get out and enjoy the great outdoors and recreational fisheries free of charge,” said Sustainable Development Minister Cathy Cox.
“This is a great opportunity to spend a weekend with family and friends and explore Manitoba’s abundant fisheries and parks.”
Except in national parks, where a federal licence is still required, anglers will be able to keep a limit of fish, which varies by species
Access to provincial parks will also be free starting Saturday through Sunday, June 12.
