WINNIPEG — It’s the weekend to rid your house of unwanted items and tidy up for spring.
Winnipeg’s spring giveaway weekend is May 12-13, where residents can place items they no longer want on the curb and label them with a “free” sign.
The city says items should be placed on the front street and be removed by dusk on Sunday if they don’t get picked up. Anything you don’t want to be taken should be kept out of sight.
An example of items to leave out could include books, furniture, sports equipment, yard tools or unwanted gifts.
The city says any item deemed to be unsafe shouldn’t be put out, nor should any furniture infested with bed bugs. Toilets with a flush volume of 13 litres or more should also be left out of the giveaway.
Further details are available on the city’s website.
