Corus Radio has hired a new program director to lead its Winnipeg FM stations, including Power 97 and Peggy @ 991.
Don Kollins brings more than 25 years of industry experience to the position, working in multiple formats as promotions director, music director, and program director with companies such as Rawlco Radio, Rogers Communications, and most recently with Entercom Communications in San Francisco, California.
The Saskatchewan native takes over from outgoing program director Tammy Cole, who now holds a similar position with Corus in Toronto at Q107 and 102.1 The Edge.
Power 97 dipped slightly in the latest spring ratings book to record a 3.5 share — down from 4.4 last fall, while sister station Peggy @ 991 rose from 2.1 in the fall to a 3.2.
Down the hall on the AM side, 680 CJOB recorded a 10.9 share, slightly behind leader CBC Radio One, which topped the charts at 14.2.
