The Winnipeg Goldeyes have signed infielder JJ Gould and right-handed pitcher Pete Perez.
Gould, a Florida native, hit .237 in 30 games earlier this season for the St. Paul Saints with two home runs and 11 RBI.
Perez was 1-0 with 12 saves and a 2.86 ERA last year for the Frontier League’s Florence Freedom. A native of Guam, Perez struck out 17 batters in 22.0 innings of work, and joins the Goldeyes with a lifetime 3.46 ERA in five professional seasons.
The Fish have also activated veteran infielder Tucker Nathans from the disabled list. In a separate move, shortstop Andrew Sohn has been placed on the inactive list, retroactive to July 4, while right-handed pitcher JC Sulbaran has been placed on the disabled list, retroactive to July 3.
The Goldeyes also placed right-handed pitcher Calvin Drummond on irrevocable waivers for the purpose of granting his release.
The Goldeyes opened a four-game series against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks Thursday at Newman Outdoor Field.
Winnipeg returns home Monday, July 9 to host the host the Sioux Falls Canaries at Shaw Park.
