Finalists have been announced in the 7th Annual Gimli Film Festival RBC $10,000 Emerging Filmmaker Competition.
Twelve submissions were made this year by emerging Manitoba filmmakers. Of those, five projects were selected to move on to the pitching round during the Gimli Film Festival on Saturday, July 28 at the Gimli Theatre.
“The RBC $10,000 Emerging Filmmaker Competition is a must-see event at GFF. We are excited for another year to showcase Manitoba’s up-and-coming film talent alongside our diverse programming of over 100 acclaimed films,” said Leona Johnson, festival director of the Gimli Film Festival.
2018 Finalists:
- Josh Benoit – Melaleuca
- Sage Daniels – Broken Glass
- Frances Koncan – Trick or Treaty
- Ryan Steel – Louis ‘David’ Riel

White International and a premiere screening of their film at the 2019 Gimli Film Festival.
The event is free and open to the public. Pitches will begin at 10 a.m. on the 28th.
