No Injuries in Maryland Street Fire; Several Cats Rescued

WINNIPEG — Several cats were rescued from a burning three-storey building in the 100 block of Maryland Street on Thursday evening.

Emergency crews responded at around 6:47 p.m. and found a fire in the attic of the building.

All occupants were able to safely self-evacuate before firefighters arrived. No injuries were reported.

The rescued animals were reunited with their owners.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimate is available.
